Hi, I'm Margaret!

I’m a holistic nutritionist  and root cause protocol consultant with a passion of helping women restore their hormones and improve their metabolisms through nutrition, lifestyle changes, and targeted supplementation.

 I tried every diet and cleanse under the sun an effort to heal my health struggles. I was chasing symptoms, spending money on supplements that I had no idea whether or not they’d help me, continued to battle acne flareups, suffered through painful periods, and struggled to get pregnant.

This is a great question and is dependent on how depleted and inflamed your body is when you start. Some experience major improvements in metabolic markers quickly, while others the process takes longer. Remember that you didn't get to where you are overnight, we can't expect our body to recover from things like chronic stress, under-eating, gut infections, hormone imbalances-- overnight.

Yes, however I would just do the HTMA test and skip gut testing and hormone testing. Remember that you can’t do anything that could increase major detox during pregnancy. You can still address your vitamins and minerals, blood sugar, prep for postpartum, reduce toxic load, and focus on intentional nourishment with your diet, etc.

Yes! We would just adjust your protocol accordingly and pivot. I can't say enough how important it is to address your minerals, gut, blood sugar, lifestyle and overall diet in preparation for pregnancy! This intentional work can make such a difference in your pregnancy, the health of your baby and recovery postpartum.

The hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) assesses your body's minerals and metals on a tissue level. It's much more accurate than a blood test and can be a preventative screening tool for things like your adrenal and thryoid health, blood sugar, underlying emotional issues, what stage of stress your body is in and more. Often blood work will show things are normal but the HTMA can show imbalances long before they would show up in the blood. This is a test that every single person can benefit from. And no, you don't need to send in a ton of hair! The GI MAP Microbial Stool test is a gut test that checks for presence of parasites, fungi, yeast, inflammation, intestinal health and presence of bad bacteria, plus the balance of your "good" bacteria. Imbalances in your gut are a root cause for MANY metabolic issues. The DUTCH complete is a urine test that you take after you ovulate, typically days 19 and 20 of your cycle. It measures how your body metabolizes your sex hormones, hormone levels, cortisol and cortisone, other markers of health such as melatonin, glutathione, B vitamins, dopamine. It can be an early red flag for estrogen related cancers, too.

Yes, supplements are a part of my clients' protocols. Certain supplements can be necessary to support drainage and detoxification, especially in preparation for a gut protocol. Depending on the results of your gut test, you can expect to be on gut supplements for 30-60 days or 90+ days (ex. candida overgrowth is a longer protocol). Investment in gut supplements can range from $100 to $300 depending on what is involved. When it comes to addressing mineral deficiencies, I do take a food first approach to this but you can expect to intentionally supplement certain nutrients that we simply do not get enough of in your diet. At the end of the day, you decide how much you can handle and YOUR timeline!
